Executor's record, 1821-[ongoing].

Whenever a will has been admitted to probate, the presiding judge may issue letters testamentary which inform an executor of his appointment and empower him to carry out his responsibilities (see Ala. Code, 43-2-20 [1975]). This series contains documents related to that process and includes petitions for probate of the will, orders for appointing dates for proof of the will, orders probating the will and granting the letters testamentary. This record began in 1821 and continues to the present.
